WoodFlow 2025 Report

Wood Flow 2025 has been produced to support Defra in understanding current and future levels of UK wood packaging placed on the market (POM) and recycled. The report also provides compliance assessments against UK packaging targets to 2020 and the Circular Economy Package (CEP) target for 2025.

Using detailed data and robust error margins, the study estimates UK wood packaging POM at 1.29 million tonnes in 2017. Pallets account for the largest share at 74%, followed by cases, boxes, crates and drums at 21%. The findings deliver reliable insights to shape UK packaging policy and recycling strategy.
