GlassFlow 2025

Published date: March 2019

Baseline data year: October 2018 to March 2019

Projection year: 2025

GlassFlow 2025 was created to support Defra in understanding then current and projected levels of UK glass packaging placed on the market (POM) and recycled through to 2025. The report also considers UK and European compliance implications, providing robust evidence for packaging policy decisions.

Using a methodology that combines UK glass production data, imports, and exports, the study cross-checks findings against the National Packaging Waste Database (NPWD) and expert input from the project’s steering group. The results highlight trends in glass packaging flows and recycling performance, ensuring reliable insights for government and industry planning.
